A new year is fast approaching, but actually so what. I could be talking to you mid-year right now and the same would be true of what I'm about to say. I spend a lot of time and money on coaches and mentors and not just any coach and mentor, but those that will help push me out of my comfort zone and those that will help me learn and grow to the place that I want to get on my bigger impact journey. And I'm thinking about a mentor in particular right now. And actually, this is a good time to say, one of my mentors will actually be coming on the podcast here very, very soon. So if you're not subscribed, you want to make sure you're subscribed, but one of my mentors has an extreme boldness about her and I've got to say it's a boldness that isn't for everybody and that's fantastic. It's fantastic. It's a boldness that pushes you out of your comfort zone. And for me, it has pushed me way outside of my comfort zone and has forced me to look at my own beliefs about my goals with my business.
And I'm just going to say right now, whether you believe it or not, it is very true that your actions are a validation of your beliefs. Okay, period. And point-blank. So when we talk about you wanting to Crow your business to make a bigger impact, to walk away from the 9-to-5 and have this wonderful life of freedom and control and an income coming in and a business that is thriving, if you believe that you yourself should be able to point to, and here's what I'm doing to get there. And if you haven't figured out what it is that you're doing to get there, because it's quite possible that you don't. In fact, that's my line of work. That's my business. Helping people figure out how they get there. To that end, even having made the time commitment. Whether you've sat down and had a conversation invested in a course, Googled something on the internet, watching a YouTube video, whatever, those are things, those actions are indicative of you believing that that's where you want to go. And that's what you want to do. So if you have made that intention with yourself that you know you're on this journey but you have no action, now you're left at a crossroad or you don't have the action that aligns with where you want to go, now you're left at a crossroad. So let's talk about how you get focused on getting to that endpoint. How you get focused on the business growth itself that's going to get you where you want to go.

So I've been doing some careful activity and I talked about it in some earlier episodes. I should've looked up to see which episode it was. I'll have to look it up. I talked a little bit about separating out activity into different quadrants and into different buckets essentially. Is it an activity that's going to help me bring in potential new prospects? Is it an activity that's going to help me keep my current base of folks around and continue to offer them value? Is it just set up infrastructure stuff that I need to do for my business? All these different things. If you take a similar lens and just be very black and white with it because you want to get hyper-focused on business growth, and let's be honest, depending on the type of business that you're in, actually it really doesn't matter. But let's be honest, if you want to get on a full-time entrepreneurship track and you want that to be your freedom and your all, one of the things that you'll have to think about is income.

What's a business without income coming in? If you're a for-profit business, you're in the business of making money and even if you're deciding to be a nonprofit, it takes money whether you decide to do grants and other sponsorships, but it takes money to sustain the change that you want to make. So we do have to pay attention to the activities that will bring us the money to help us with the impact that we want to make. So I think it's, it's a nice exercise to sit down and say, "Okay, for all the things that I'm doing in my business right now, list them all out. Then break them out into two simple quadrants. Are these things on the one hand that will help me make the income that I need to make the impact? Are these things that will simply support me in making the impact?"
I don't know if you can see the difference, but the things that will support you in making the impact can easily be configured around in many different ways. Let's say you have a course to offer the world or a segment of people, I don't want to say the world because I do want you to continue to make sure that you are super focused and that your audience is not everyone has. That's a fast path to be on a slow journey. But if you are super focused and let's say you have a course that you want to offer a segment of the population and you have on your list to get on, let's say the teachable platform. Teachable is simply a platform where you can do digital course delivery and there are lots of different platforms out there and that's one of the items on your list. "I need to get on teachable, I need to get signed up, I need to get all this stuff done."
Now that's going to support your income, but you don't necessarily have to do that in that way. There is a faster path that you can take and that faster path could be, screw teachable for right now cause I'm not even sure if this course is going to completely hit the mark. So let me just go forward, do my webinar, enroll some people and maybe I'll do the course as a live thing that I do with some PowerPoint slides. I don't necessarily need to invest in all that infrastructure and put all that time into it. That's where I'm talking about the support. Supporting the infrastructure both versus the things that are going to get you to that income line, that pulling that in. The things that are really business pillars for you, getting that webinar, getting people enrolled, getting people you know, getting people on, getting them the solutions that they need. It's very important that you get focused on business growth and not just infrastructure-related things.
So let's talk about lastly, just sort of what to put in check in your life and from an environment perspective all together to make way for your possibilities. The big thing that I would say to you is from an environment perspective, get yourself in as uncluttered space as possible. And this could translate to physical space as well because that does absolutely sometimes affect our mental space. You want to get yourself uncluttered so that you can see what is the stuff that is truly a move that is a business growth move. And what is the stuff that really is really just supporting infrastructure that I could do a myriad of different ways? You want to be in an uncluttered space for that mental space and physical space if it helps. And then in your life, get yourself surrounded by one.

And how you can push it forward and those voices that yes, while they support you, they encourage you that there is a counterbalancing voice that says, "Okay, now you've done enough of some of this creation activity." You've done a lot, but when are you going to start making money and helping people on their way and getting that exchange for their transformation so that you can grow your business? You need a counter counterbalance and not just that positivity, a voice, so something that will push you all right now as always, take this take action. There's so much in your action and like I told you earlier, your actions are going to validate your beliefs. If you don't see yourself moving forward, you've got a belief problem and we've got to get that in check first.
